Wake Forest Baptist to Open Pediatric Practice in Clemmons

September 26, 2011

Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center will open the Brenner Children’s Hospital Pediatrics – Clemmons in the new Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center Plaza located at the corner of Lewisville-Clemmons Road and Peace Haven Road in February 2012.

The physicians who practice at Pediatrics – Clemmons are Mark Pashayan, M.D., Abby Haas, M.D., Michelle Linkous, D.O., and Mary Evelyn O’Neil, M.D.

The practice, which will have an on-site lab, offers a wide range of pediatric care, including well baby and child exams, preventive care, developmental screening, routine hearing and vision exams, vaccinations, school and sports exams, breastfeeding education, asthma and allergy care, diet and fitness education, weight management for overweight children and diabetes education.  Pediatrics – Clemmons also will handle injuries such as treating minor burns and scrapes, and stitching small lacerations.

Pashayan formerly practiced at Brenner Children’s Hospital Pediatrics-Westgate in Winston-Salem. From 2001 to 2011, he also served as chief medical officer for Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center Community Physicians. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the North Carolina Pediatric Society.

“The Medical Plaza – Clemmons is going to be wonderful in terms of the breadth of services offered when it opens in a few months,” said Pashayan, senior pediatrician at the Clemmons practice. “I’m pleased to be part of the team that will offer pediatric care there under the Brenner Children’s name. Our goal will be to extend the same level of world-class patient care and compassion associated with Brenner Children’s to the families we serve from the new Clemmons location.

Haas served as pediatric chief resident clinical instructor at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center from July 2010 to June 2011 and is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

“This is an exciting time for the three other pediatricians and me as we establish the new office in Clemmons,” Haas said. “The Medical Plaza – Clemmons will provide easy access and a wide range of medical services for children and adults alike when it opens in early 2012. Until it opens, we are ready to serve patients from our temporary location.”

Currently, the practice is temporarily located at 5175 Old Clemmons School Road.
